What do I do if something
seems wrong?
- Check that the positions
of the electrodes are correct.
- Make sure that the
horse's coat under electrodes is thoroughly moistened.
- Check if the electrodes
need cleaning. Sweat and dirt can interfere with the signal
to the transmitter as can cause oxidization of the electrodes
after a lot of use.
- Wash the electrodes with
water and soap solution. Dry them carefully.
- Check that the cables are
not too loose or moving.
- In some cases (at about
120 bpm) a double pulse may occur at each heartbeat (R + T
waves). This phenomenon disappears when the intensity is
increased.
- Move away from any
increased electromagnetic field (e.g. high voltage power
lines).
Irregular or interrupted
heart rate signal?
- Be sure transmitter is
in the correct position.
- With a rider, check that
the wrist receiver is within the correct distance (1metre/3
feet) from the transmitter.
- If transmission distance is
decreasing have the battery checked
Blank or fading watch
display?
- Have the
battery replaced. Call service center at 800-227-1314 (9-5
east coast time)
Transmitter belt
- Active only when
electrodes are in contact with the horse's coat.
- Sweat and moisture keep
the electrodes wet and transmitter activated and shorten
battery life.
- Keep electrode parts stored
back-to-back. Battery drains when stored face-to-face
or close together.
- Regularly clean the
electrodes and wipe them dry after use.
- Dirt on the electrodes
weakens the contact.
- Wash the electrodes with
a mild soap and water solution.
- Never use alcohol,
abrasives or cleaning chemicals.
- Material is very soft
take and must be taken care of to prevent any damage.
- Have heart rate transmitter
replaced 800-959-4089 M-F 10-5 Pacific Time
Transmitter Batteries
- Average life is 1000
hours.
- Use authorized service
to change.
