THE WATERGYM BELT COMES IN TWO SIZES:

SMALL   FITS WAIST SIZES 26 TO 36 INCHES

(see bottom of page for more information)
The length of the blue foam on the SMALL belt is approx. 28 inches long.
The black strap is approximately 50 inches long*.

MEDIUM / LARGE   FITS WAIST SIZES 33 TO 54 INCHES
The length of blue foam on the MEDIUM / LARGE belt is approx.
             33
inches long.  The black strap is approximately 50 inches long*.

*If you notice in the picture of our belt that there is a black elastic strap with a buckle that weaves throughout the belt to secure the belt around your waist. This black strap is long (we’ve got it tucked in for the photo). If it wasn’t tucked in, you would see that the strap is about twice as long as the blue foam part of the belt. We’re generous with our strap. You’ll want to tuck any excessive strap back through the belt holes from which it came, so it will be out of your way during your workout.  SEE FITTING INSTRUCTIONS.

IMPORTANT SIZING INFORMATION

1) IF YOUR WAIST IS 32 INCHES OR SMALLER, YOU MUST WEAR THE SMALL.
If you wrap the medium/large belt around your waist, since it is 33 inches long, the two ends of the belt will touch in the front. Therefore, you will not be able to tighten the belt enough to keep the belt down. It will end up riding up under your arms.

2) IF YOU ARE A WOMAN WITH A WAIST SIZE OF 33 TO 37, YOU CAN TAKE EITHER THE SMALL OR THE MEDIUM/LARGE SIZE. THE FOLLOWING QUESTION WILL HELP YOU DETERMINE WHICH SIZE IS BEST FOR YOU.
Would you prefer the blue foam to come all the way around your waist, so that it almost touches in front? Or would you prefer little or no foam on your belly?

We've found that about one third of our female customers prefer the blue foam part of the belt to come all the way around as far as possible, so that the foam almost touches in front. They feel more secure with a belt that has equal flotation all the way around their torso. Therefore, they prefer the medium/large belt.

On the other hand, we've found that about two thirds of our female customers prefer less foam, because they don't want a lot of foam around their waist. They want just the right amount of foam to float well, but no more than that. They like the feeling of freedom, (our small belt feels close to wearing nothing at all), as well as performing abdominal crunches without any foam on their bellies. Therefore, they prefer the small belt, even if it only goes part to halfway around thier waist.. The only exception to this is for those women who tend to be "sinkers" and need the extra flotation to keep them up. Those women need the medium/large. So bottom line, as long as the belt floats you, it is personal preference and comfort that determine your size.

3) MOST MEN WEAR THE MEDIUM/ LARGE SIZE
The medium belt has more flotation than the small, therefore most men require the medium, since men tend to "sink" more than women because of their body fat to lean muscle ratio. The exception to this is if your waist is 32 inches or smaller (see above), and you are 5'5 or shorter and not too muscular.
